David Newbould was born in Canada, and seasoned his craft via thousands of teenage hours spent marinating in the works of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Keith Richards and the like. Having done career stints in New York City, Austin TX, and Nashville TN, he has in recent years worked closely with Dan Baird of The Georgia Satellites, the two writing over 30 songs together (12 appearing on Dan Baird & Homemade Sin albums). Many David Newbould songs have found their way into TV/film placements over the years, including on shows like “Criminal Minds” and “Dawson’s Creek”. His albums have charted on the Euro Americana, Freeform American Radio (FAR), and Roots 66 charts, and he has toured in the past with country music singer Natalie Stovall.

David Newbould’s Sin & Redemption (Rock Ridge Music) was released in late 2019 to unanimously strong reviews. Australian Rock Review magazine hailed, “If not THE album of 2019, then David Newbould’s Sin & Redemption was certainly in the top 10.” Badlands & B-Sides raved that it, “spooks in and out of slinky guitar grooves and stomach pummeling lyrics that often feel relentless.” As featured on Sirius XM Outlaw Country's The Buddy & Jim Show, the album features Newbould along with friends Brad Pemberton (Steve Earle, Ryan Adams), Micah Hulscher (Margo Price), Chris Powell (Brandi Carlile), Julie Christensen (Leonard Cohen, Lou Reed), and Tess Sasser (Will Hoge). His music appeals to fans of likeminded troubadour rockers like Drive-By Truckers, Kevin Gordon, Steve Earle, James McMurtry, Bruce Springsteen, as well as singers like Father John Misty and Tyler Ramsey.
